Donor Car Disassembly

Postby polybot285 on Wed Feb 15, 2006 4:29 pm

Just looking for some input as to the difficulty regarding the disassembly of a '87 - '93 donor. What to look out for, what's usually better to just replace, etc. I may have found a suitable donor, a '91 coupe, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

As far as the gas tank, I was pretty much counting on buying a new one. As well, I have access to a sand blaster at work that I'll be making good use of.

I'm also trying to get a realistic price on paint and body work, so any input here would be appreciated. I really have no idea who I'm going to get to do it yet either. I'll most likely look in the larger centers like Moncton or Halifax when the time comes.

Bodywork and paint are really tricky. It depends on just how good a job you need. There are a few around who will do a fairly good job for about $4000, but that's not show quality.
